Level-Up
You can use this strategy to carry a lower level pet to give it some experience.
This strategy has been built to be as fast as possible.
The strategy takes a while. Sit back, get yourself a warm drink and relax the scenery.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
You want a strategy that does the job in one shot? This might be the one for you!
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
This table shows the level increase for completing the fight with level 25 pets and one carry pet.
Partial level experience is not included in the calculation.

Only the most relentless of pets remained with the Wastewalker. That is because he always tries to Shu them away.

3 tries all fail for my lvl 13 carry pet - very RNG dependent.

When Pounder comes in Tranquility, Ethereal, Alpha x 3, Tranquility, Ethereal, Alpha until dead. Ethereal to dodge his rupture. Makes the fight smoother and usually successful unless you get critically hit.

@Lordskull this is absolutely correct and makes this fight 100% successful. Main strat above needs to be edited to reflect this. Thanks!

Not really reliable, Chi-Chi VS Pounder has no advantage and inflicts weak damage.

I've only tried this strat a few times (only got Chi-Chi recently) but every time I bring the Tonk in, Mutilator's low enough that a single Ion Cannon is enough to kill him. I've never needed to use Shock and Awe.

Nevermind, Shock and Awe is definitely needed sometimes.

A few things to note about this strat: what Remte stated below is helpful to remember and also, when you swap in to the Darkmoon Tonk, don't use Shock and Awe until Sandstorm is over with. Just use Missile until it fades. If you miss with either Shock and Awe or Ion Cannon, you probably will not win the battle.

Chi-Chi definitely needs to be careful about her health drop.
It's good to put Ethereal against Pounder too if she's going to loss her speed buff!
