Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

NO RNG / NO SPECIFIC BREED REQUIRED

I didn't have the Dragonhawks leveled to 25 and I didn't want to waste a Pet Stone on 2 dragonhawks. PSA IF YOU DECIDE TO LEVEL A SILVER DRAGONHAWK TO 25, MAKE SURE IT'S (S/S) BREED. IT WAS THE ONLY SILVER DRAGONHAWK BREED THAT HELPED ME IN SHADEFLICKER'S DRAGONKIN FIGHT.

Spawn of Onyxia (1/2/1)
Albino Chimaeraling (1/2/1)
Emmigosa (2/1/2)

Lift Off > Scorched Earth > Breath until Spawn of Onyxia Dies (Unless Lift-Off comes off CD)
Switch to Albino Chimaeraling > Lift Off > Call Darkness> Shadowflame til Albino Chimaeraling dies (Unless Lift-Off comes off CD)
Switch to Emmigosa >Icetomb > Breath until you win

This will only work if none of the attacks at the end with emmigosa miss (due to darkness)
Worked on the 3rd attempt for me.

'No RNG' and yet it still didn't work at all, p/p Spawn and p/p Albino.

I added wild magic to emmigosa, ice tomb stunned mini, I threw on wild magic (took 2 turns to land it) and mini died after 2 breaths.

Worked first time. Great. Actual strats (ones using Cyclone and Slicing Wind) need updating as Antaen cannon now kills your third pet

For SL prepatch, I used:

Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'Lon (P/S) - 1, 2, 1
Soul of the Aspects (B/B) - 1, 1, 2
Chrominius (H/H) - 1, 1, 2

Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'Lon:
1 - Lift-Off
2 - Breath
3 - Breath
4 - Celestial blessing (Not sure if I had enough health to do another breath after. If so, do so!

Soul of the Aspects:
1 - Sunlight
2 - Claw
3 - Solar Beam

Chrominius:
1 - Bite
2 - Howl
3 - Surge of Power (edited)

Chrominius (1-1-2)

Lift Off

Seems the fight relys on not being unlucky with Low Rolls on Lift Off damage, had a number of attempts where I'd leave the boss on extremely low, or kill it as the DOT finished my Yu'la off. Did it a few times though as I suspected that was happening.

Mulky wrote on 2020-09-14 01:45:36

I did the same three moves;

Lift Off
Celestial Blessing
swap to infinite whelpling

But switching infinite whelp to squeeze an extra early advantage out before he dies;

early advantage
weakness
tail sweep
early advantage

Bring in Chrominius
Bite until mechanical rez has occurred
Surge of Power
Chrominius dies

Finish with Yu'la - took one breath for me

Dragonkin Team 1:
Twilight Clutch-Sister (S/B) - 2, 1, 2. Other breeds will also work but I have only this one.
Stormborne Whelpling (P/S) - x, 1, 1
Chrominius (H/H) - x, 1, 2

Twilight Clutch-Sister:
1 - Phase Shift
2 - Twilight Fire
3 - Twilight Meteorite
4 - Twilight Fire
5 - switch to Stormborne Whelpling

Stormborne Whelpling:
1 - Call Lightning. Rarley Stormborne Whelpling can be killed in this turn, if this happens restart.
2 - Thunderbolt. Stormborne Whelpling dies.

Chrominius:
1 - Howl
2 - Surge of Power. Chrominius dies from Antaen Cannon.

Twilight Clutch-Sister:
1 - Twilight Fire
2 - Twilight Meteorite

Dragonkin Team 2 if you don't have Twilight Clutch-Sister:
Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'Lon (P/S) - 1, 2, 1
Stormborne Whelpling (P/S) - 2, 1, 1
Chrominius (H/H) - x, 1, 2

Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'Lon:
1 - Lift-Off
2 - Celestial Blessing
3 - Breath. I don't know why but if do Breath in this turn it will usually make more damage.
4 - switch to Stormborne Whelpling

Stormborne Whelpling:
1 - Call Lightning
2 - Thunderbolt
3 - Frost Breath. Rarley Stormborne Whelpling can be killed in this turn, if this happens restart.
4 - Frost Breath. Stormborne Whelpling dies from Antaen Cannon.

Chrominius:
1 - Howl
2 - Surge of Power. Minixis should die here for the first time. If it doesn't happen restart.
3 - recovering
4 - recovering
5 - Howl. Chrominius dies

Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'Lon:
1 - Lift-Off

'Rarely Stormborne Whelpling can be killed in this turn'
I tried 5 times and it died on that turn every single time, very rare indeed. Yu'la dies every time too. Awful strategy, doesn't work

Just tried it. It worked for me 1st try. Yu'la was left with only 50 HP though.

Guybrush wrote on 2017-09-03 09:07:25

I looked through the comments and didn't find any alternatives that fit my roster, so I experimented. To my surprise I got him on the first attempt.

This is what I used, but I think the last pet is largely irrelevant as long as it can deal with Minixis' last bit of HP after he resurrects.

Albino Chimeraling PS (1, 1, 1)
Nether Faerie Dragon HP (1, 2, 2)
Infinite Whelpling PB (2, 2, 1)

Heres what I did:

Lead with Chimeraling
1+2. Lift off
3. Roar
4. Shadowflame

Swap to Nether Dragon

1. Cyclone
2. Life Exchange
3. Slicing Wind

--> Dies, swap back to Chimera

1+2. Lift off
3. Shadowflame
4. Shadowflame

--> Dies, swap to last pet

1. Any combination of normal attacks should be enough to finish it.

rhorle wrote on 2017-09-03 13:25:13

I just had the nether dragon at 25 so used a wild jade hatchling in place of Chimeraling and a Celestial dragon. The key is lift off to avoid the death beam and life exchange with your strategy.

I used Spawn of Onyxia (1/x/1) instead of the chimaera and it worked wonderfully!

Following Guybrush's strat: Success with SS Chimaeraling, HP NFD, and PP Infinite Whelpling...first try, thx

didn't have many of these pets or the right breeds. (dunno if these breeds matter but it's what i used in case it DOES matter)

Crimson Hatchling 1X1 SS
Infinite Hatchling 122 PP
Wild Golden Hatchling 122 PS

Liftoff
Breath til dead
Roar
EA if it will double, otherwise Breathe til dead
Liftoff if he's gunna cast his thing otherwise Breathe til dead.

Thanks!

Didn't have the dragonhawks leveled and this worked great after a few tries. My failed attempts had the Infinite Hatchling die to the big attack and then the Golden Hatchling couldn't kill it fast enough. Or well, it did kill Minixis and had 51 HP left, which wasn't enough to survive the dot, so still a fail .

spearmoore2 wrote on 2018-11-13 12:01:58

didn't have my dragonhawks lvled either...this worked..on a side note, only the infinite has different breeds, and its the Wild Crimson Hatchling, only other crimson is the whelping which is always a p/s...golden hatchling had 75% health at end..the p/p on the infinite definitely helps as his power is 341

Bronze Whelpling (1/1/1), Emmigosa (x/2/2), and Proto-Drake Whelp (x/1/1). Bronze uses Lift-Off & Early Advantage. Emmi casts Ice Tomb & Wild Magic, then dies. Proto-Drake used Proto-Strike to avoid Cannon and Flamethrower otherwise. Down went Minixis.

did this with wild crimson hatchling instead. gg

I used Crimson aswell instead of Bronze. Liftoff then breath until it died.

Reilly wrote on 2018-07-11 18:10:38

If you don't have the right breed for Infinite Whelpling any dragon with a dodge should work (I used Nether Faerie Dragon 1,1,2)

Xna - Doomhammer wrote on 2017-10-04 03:48:42

Used Dark Whelping (111), Infinite Whelping (111), Spawn of Onyxia (122).
Lift off/roar/shadowflame until dead.
Bring in Infinite whelp, Use early advantage only when your hp less than minix otherwise tail sweep until dead.
Spawn of Onyxia , Deep breath x 2

Emerson wrote on 2017-10-04 04:00:13

Uses Infinite Hatchling instead Whelping with 2x2, but followed the start as above and worked nicely

This worked, lost to rng once

Thycetis wrote on 2018-07-11 03:04:11

I failed a few times with Minixis at 32 hp. Not sure if it was a breed issue or I just needed to keep at it until I got a lucky crit, but I decided to swap out the Dark Whelpling for a Bronze Whelping 211 to get another EA cast off (tail sweep filler otherwise). This left Minixis a Scorched Earth hit and tick away from death when the Spawn of Onyxia came out. A followup Deep Breath finished him after he revived, winning with only 3 turns of the Spawn of Onyxia. Hope the substitution is helpful to someone.

Maie wrote on 2017-09-04 08:47:55

I didn't have the needed breed of Infinite Whelp so i used Albino Chimeraling (1, 1, 1) as Guybrush suggested. Lift-Off, Roar, then Shadowflame until AC died. Then continued with the Dragonhawks as the strat suggested.

Darling wrote on 2017-09-24 13:44:29

Worked perfectly! Thanks for the suggestion :) I think it is a failproof pretty much and should be the main strat!

Hedu wrote on 2017-09-25 15:17:19

Worked for me. Thanks for posting! Not sure if it matters, but my Albino Chimaeraling and Dragonhawks were all S/S.

Pluronic wrote on 2017-11-28 13:17:41

Maie's strat worked perfectly! Ty!

Resü wrote on 2018-01-03 10:48:56

Worked first time when everything else I tried failed. I used Albino chimeraling (p/p) Red dragonhawk (p/s) and silver dragonhawk (b/b). Thanks very much Maie!

Wreathy wrote on 2018-06-16 23:52:33

Prudentius wrote on 2017-09-03 23:21:44

Should be a P/B breed, not H/P. H/P isn't available for the Infinite Whelpling.

TimboAZ

wrote on 2017-12-25 09:11:23

Thanks for this comment. Leveled the P/B and it worked.

Loncis wrote on 2017-09-24 11:08:03

This doesn't work. Your Infinite Whelpling, regardless of the breed, will be one-shotted after the first attack. This strat should be taken down.

Jen wrote on 2017-09-24 21:23:25

The infinite whelpling was left with 19hp after the first attack. Weakness went off before the cannon. It was able to get off the remaining turns as written.

Strat worked as written

Noel wrote on 2017-09-25 18:28:54

Actually if you're P/S or P/P the 1400 hp is instantly killed; try using the P/B version.

Macgam wrote on 2017-10-05 08:01:13

P/B Infinite Whelpling worked for me.

Rzzr wrote on 2017-10-12 09:06:37

Did,t work for me, he kills the last pet always.

Zalid wrote on 2017-10-24 17:10:52

Gráinne

wrote on 2017-10-12 19:18:47

"Your Infinite Whelpling needs to have 1438+ health (H/P breed)". I think H/P is a typo. The only breed of Infinite Whelpling with more than 1400 HP is P/B, with 1465.

As people below have said, many other Dragonkin with Lift-off will work as well. I found a P/P Bronze Whelpling was not only fast enough to dodge the cannon, but did very effective damage by itself, enough that I two-petted this one.

Phalcor wrote on 2017-09-24 23:59:56

I went with Blue h/h, Red p/s and Silver s/s Dragonhawk hatchlings, Flamethrower and Conflagarate on CD

Argent wrote on 2017-09-02 01:22:19

I was able to do this with Bronze Whelpling (S/S, 211), Infinite Whelpling(P/S, 121), and Soulf of the Aspects (222).

Bronze Whelpling: Lift-Off, Early Advantage, Tail Sweep until death.
Soul of the Aspects: Breath until Antaen Cannon is ready, Deflection it, Breath until your Soul is about to die (1-2 turns if I recall correctly), then Solar Beam. Minixis "died" here.
Infinite Whelping: Weakness, Early Advantage, Tail Sweep. Minixis died here, but your Whelpling should have enough have for another Tail Sweep or maybe Weakness + Tail Sweep.

Jess wrote on 2017-09-02 08:08:18

Thanks that worked the first time I tried it.

SS Pheonix Hawk Hatchling 2/2/2
HP Nightmare Whelpling 1/2/X
HP Proto-Drake Whelp 1/1/1

1-2. Liftover (dodge canon)
3. Flyby
4-5. Quills
6. Flyby (PHH dies) - swap to Nightmare Whelpling
7. Flame Jet (likely triggers Dragonkin passive)
8-9. Shadowflame (enemy dies and triggers Mech passive, then Cannons and kills NW; swap to last pet)
10. Flamethrower
11. Breath

Jinlora wrote on 2017-09-01 15:00:39

bravelyn wrote on 2017-09-01 10:11:53

used sun darter hatchling, ageless bronze drake, albino chimaeraling, timing ethereal, sunlight, sleeping gas, time stop breath, tail sweep, lift off call darkness and tail sweep, have to watch for cannon time your lift off and ethereal good luck ty

Naveen wrote on 2017-08-29 21:58:40

Used the same strat as above, except swapped Infinite Whelping with Bronze Whelping (p/p)... lift off, early advantage, tail sweep... the rest went as listed.

solitha wrote on 2017-08-30 02:01:25

Thank you! It did work as you said, even though the Bronze Whelpling lasted an extra round.

Hermy wrote on 2017-08-30 04:41:19

Thanks! This worked for me too.

Roland wrote on 2017-08-30 10:34:04

I also did something similar with having my infinite go second, make sure to use a dragon with lift off and fast speed for the first round and it was pretty simple after that :D. Helps to also have another dragon with dodge/lift off or such in the third place just in case :).

PositiveRoleModel wrote on 2017-08-30 00:55:22

Infinite Whelpling does not come in an H/P breed, it only is available as a P/P, P/S or P/B. The P/B breed does have 1465 Health

Anony wrote on 2017-08-29 19:32:13

I did not have the required breed Infinite Whelpling and the Dragonhawks I had were all level 1 lol. So I devised another team. The only problem is if you get critted on Crimson whelpling or miss on Dark Whelpling you will have to restart.
Bronze Whelpling HS (2, 1, 1)
Crimson Whelpling PS (2, 2, 2)
Dark Whelpling PS (2, 2, 2)
Opened with Bronze Whelpling: Lift Off to avoid the cannon. Tail Sweep x 3 then Early Advantage then died.
Brought in Crimson W: Scorched Earth, Deep Breath then died
Finally Dark Whelpling: Call Darkness, Tail Sweep (if you miss you Dark W may die and the fight is lost) When Minixis enters mech stage Deep Breath and if that doesn't kill him Tail Sweep.
I'm sure someone can fine tune this, I was desperate to get it done so I wouldn't have to come back to Minixis if I didn't have to because of the elites in this area.
