Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

DragonsAfterDark: Strategy has been updated in OP's absence for SLs changes.

Changes Made:

1. Spawn of G'nathus changed to an S/S Skittering Eel. Same moves, but faster than CBoA
2. Tideskipper's Crush was swapped for Body Slam, since we don't need him to survive, and this will do more damage than Crush.
3. Gulp Froglet changed to Fleeting Frog. Same move (Swarm) but the FF is faster and will leave CBoA with 2 rounds of Shattered Defenses instead of 1, so both the Thunderbolt & Jolt will hit with it on.

Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

I've added a script, and it should work no matter who gets swapped in on round 10 :)

For people who don't have a gulp froglet like me, go get one.
Just kidding - try this strat Link
It has a bit of RNG but it's better than going out to get a gulp froglet IMO.

Copy-paste for permanence: (I used mongoose and mud jumper instead of sifang and benax and it worked fine still btw)

1. Sifang otter (needs to be faster than 291) (screech and dive)
2. Ghostshell Crab (spirit claws, bubble, spirit spikes)
3. Benax (tongue lash, mudslide and bubble)

1. start with sifang otter and screech, he will swap you to crab
2. bubble
3. spirit claws (must hit)
4. spirit spikes
5. benax comes in and bubble
6. mudslide
7. get swapped to crab
8. switch to sifang otter again
9. and dive, you will die
10. crab comes in so bubble
11. spirit claws (must hit)
12. spirit spikes
13. spirit claws
14. benax comes in so bubble
15. mudslide
16. tongue lash

Snazzy wrote on 2017-09-24 03:44:23

Unless there is something else about breeds, there is no way this works as outlined.

Snazzy wrote on 2017-09-24 12:46:53

Update: You may have to have the crab take turn 10 shield on turn 11, that seems to work better.

Schahmaar wrote on 2017-09-30 10:47:36

Very veeery tight, but the only one that did it for me (gulp froglet is so painful/expensive...)

Szuzsika wrote on 2017-09-30 12:00:10

I guess I got lucky, all the spirit claws hit, so my Benax easily finished off the enemy.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-10-01 15:45:11

I didn't have an S/S otter, so I used a mongoose instead. Got it on 3rd try

I used the aquatic strategy listed here: Link but with Toxic Skin instead of mudslide. Worked beautifully.

Inspired by this and commentary I ended up with:

Corrupted Blood of Argus (NPC#128017)

1: Aqua Strider S/S (2,1,2)
2: Tideskipper H/P (1,2,2)
3: Gulp Froglet H/P (1,1,1)

1.Poison Spit -> Gulp forced in
2. Mudslide
3. Swarm
4. Swarm -> Tideskipper forced in
5. Crush/Body slam
6. Geyser
7. Switch menually to Aqua Strider
8. Poison Spit
9. switch to Gulp Froglet
10. Swarm
11. Swarm
12. Crush until dead

From Wowhead. Does not use breeds.

Dark Phoenix Hatchling (1,2,1)
Corrupted Blood (1,1,2)
Crimson Geode (1,2,2) (Best if it has lower HP than Corrupted Blood. If not switch line 2 and 4)

Pass
Scorched Earth -> Explode
Bring in DPH -> Pass
Elementium Bolt -> Amplify Magic -> Pass
Conflagrate

Semi wrote on 2017-09-09 17:59:25

For whatever reason I was getting the Gulp Froglet in before Tideskipper on Turn 10, so I made a slight modification by throwing in a 291+ otter in the first spot with Screech and it turned out very nicely (might be based on my breeds so I included them):

Sifang Otter (S/S): Screech
Tideskipper (H/S): Geyser, Crush, Crush
Gulp Froglet (B/B): Swarm
Otter: Gnaw, Gnaw, Screech
Gulp Froglet: Swarm (if Gulp Froglet dies, Tideskipper can come in and Crush once)

Dalaina wrote on 2017-09-10 22:12:26

Alternate Aquatic Strategy

* I did not have the HH breed of tideskipper, so here is another option.

Gulp Froglet (1,1,1)
Left Shark (1,2,2)
Gahz'rooki (1,1,2)

1. Gulp Froglet - pass - switched with Left Shark
2. Pass
3. Dazzling Dance
4. Rain Dance - switched with Gahz'rooki
5. Geyser
6. Switch back to Left Shark!
* This will effectively limit its healing
7. Dazzling Dance - switched with Gulp Froglet
8 - 10. Swarm - switched with Gahz'rooki
11 - 12. Bite

Bathe in glory!

Wavering wrote on 2017-09-23 20:45:30

Used SS Coralback Fiddler, P/S Gahz'rooki, and H/P Gulp Froglet as an adaptation of this strat. Instead of Tideskipper crush you use Gahz'rooki Bite instead, then Geyser.

Definitely follow the instructions exactly regarding the manual swaps, as it prevents the gate from swapping out your Coralback before it can get off the Rip.

As written this strat needs an additional note that the Gulp Froglet must be B/B.
This script was written to allow for any breed of Gulp Froglet.

I didn't have H/H Tideskipper but I was able to make this strategy work with S/S Leopard Tree Frog (2/1/2) in the first slot and H/P Tideskipper. I basically just followed the strategy except instead of G'nathus, the Leopard Tree Frog outsped and made sure Swarm of Flies was applied with Tongue Lash as extra chip damage. After the Tree Frog was taken out, Gulp Froglet was swapped in and was able to finish the fight with a Swarm. I'm not sure if I got lucky here but I was struggling on this fight for awhile without the H/H Tideskipper and this was what finally worked for me

Is there any way it can work without the h/h tideskipper?

If corrupted blood crits you probably will just have to restart. Got it to work after a few tries. My gulp froglet got swapped in after spawn died as well (had 5 more health than tideskipper lol). I used mudslide then swarm, then finished with one crush from tideskipper. Thanks :) I wasn't getting very close with my teams. Gulp froglet breed was h/p.

I know the feeling... endless hours on PTR testing these fights. Mac'aree was really too much at times. Thank you for sharing your strategies! I added most of yours already. Can't say how happy I am for the help :-)

Must need a special breed of the Gulp too. My Gulp kept being forced in on turn 10 but I got it down after 8 tries.

This fight feels next to impossible.
