There is always the element of RNG thanks to Snozz's Flank ability, but I was able to defeat the boss even with a P/P Sanctum Cub.

So you used this strat and succeeded with it but it "doesn't work"?

I did not have a viscidus globule...so I tried multiple other posted strategies. Save yourself time and a great deal of frustration. Go get what you need and the strat works perfectly. Done.

TIL you can miss a "50% chance" 17 times in a row.

Thank you! After so many failed strats this one worked the very first try!

Joe wrote on 2017-11-21 22:11:58

I used Trunks in place of Sanctum Cub.
1. Headbutt
2. Moonfire (I know, I know, the healing buff for Snozz)
3. When Elekks Fly (50% hit chance. If you miss, you have to restart. If you hit, you win).

After trying multiple strategies and cursing at the RNG Gods for about 1.5 hours, finally used Mini Mindslayer (1,1,2), Netherspace Abyssal (X,2,2), and Empowered Manafiend (P/P) (X,2,1)
Mindslayer Pass*
Abyssal enters, Swap back to Mini Mindslayer
EyeBlast
Life Exchange, Abyssal enters
Nether Gate
Explode (dies)
Mini Mindslayer Amplify Magic (dies)
Empowered Manafiend Arcane Storm
Surge of Power (edited)

wertigo wrote on 2020-05-28 00:19:46

This was the best strat ever! thankyou so much. Manafiend need bit of rng, that snooz's flank will not hit 3x to survive till surge, but it works!! Thank you

Gráinne

wrote on 2020-05-28 01:10:01

I wondered why that strat had been downvoted, when your comment indicated it worked well for you. So I popped over to have a look.

The Mindslayer takes 490 from the gate, and at least 560 from the Flank. That's 1050 damage. It has a 50% chance of taking another 280, which is still ok, but in all a 17.5% chance of taking a crit from any of the 3 or 4 hits. A crit will end the battle, killing the Mindslayer before it gets its Life Exchange off. Not great odds, but OK for a Family challenge strat.

So it has a bit over 1 in 6 chance of failure on the first pet.

The Abyssal section seems very solid. I used a H/H, but the Abyssal takes just 1 Flank, so two or three hits, and even the 1400HP P/P will survive that fine unless insanely bad RNG with crits.

The Manafind has to eat two Flanks. That will be at least 1120 damage, and on a 1339 HP pet, that doesn't leave a lot of headroom. If Snozz gets in a third hit on either, your Manafiend dies before the killing blow, so you have a 75% chance of failure here.

If it works, it will work very well, but your overall rate of success will be about 1 attempt in 5.

Worth trying, if you don't have the recommended pets. Just bring bandages :)

Upvoting all of these for the reasoning that wertigo and Grainne gave. It's an RNG strat. I got it on my 3rd try, with P/S, P/S, P/P. If the OP had said it was RNG it would only get upvotes, I'm sure!
