High XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
TD Script
The strategy offers a TD script that can be used with the TD Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

My favorite strat for this fight! The timing for the first two pets is perfect, and if you have a P/P whelp you can usually finish Piqua in three hits. (edited)

With a P/B Emerald Proto-Whelp , I bring in my Darkmoon Zeppelin to finish off Bleat with Explode. No need to swap in level pet.

I had to add 2 lines to this. 1 because there's a chance Lapin can kill your EPW, and 2 because if Bleat uses, well, Bleat on the round you use Ion Cannon, he can heal above the 1098 threshold. Both occurances break the script.

I'm finding Chrominius goes down after howl - not sure where going wrong, but Bleet's taking him from full to dead before can get surge off.

Aranesh

wrote on 2016-07-30 05:54:20

Hey Radek! You're right. I changed this according to the howl-bomb nerf but apparently it is not working like that. I made a small tweak to the strategy and now it should be safe to use again :-)
Thanks for pointing it out!

Suer wrote on 2016-08-19 02:08:32

Afraid it's still not working for me. Chrominius bites the dust before he can get Surge off.

SomeEUPlayer wrote on 2016-09-18 01:20:01

The old strategy from the warcraftpets.com guide at http://www.warcraftpets.com/community/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7023 still works. The main difference is that it uses Tonk with "Shock and Awe", "Missile" and "Ion Cannon" instead of Chrominius (similar to alternative 3 strategy from here).

DavidG wrote on 2018-02-12 12:06:32

Agree with SomeEUPlayer. A mechanical in the last slot is a better bet than Chrominius. I use a Tranquil Mechanical Yeti (x,1,2) and just cast Call Lightning / Ion Cannon for the killing blow.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-12 12:22:02

Why does this suggest a 5+ leveling pet? 1+ works just fine for me if you swap right as Bleat comes in as the guide says. It won't get hit.

Saintgabrial wrote on 2016-12-12 15:28:13

Yes this is true. I'll change this.

Thanks

Saintgabrial wrote on 2016-12-13 15:38:16

OK NVM. I'm changing it back for sometimes he Stampedes first and a level 1 pet gets killed. But you can try a level one pet and hope he does Chew first. If not just start over until he does.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-18 15:28:49

Is it random, or could it maybe depend on how much health your Drake has when Bleat comes in? That's interesting, I've never seen it start with Stampede.

Saintgabrial wrote on 2016-12-19 09:26:45

Ya me either, until that day I changed it. But then I normally have a 15+ pet with me and didn't really pay attention to it I guess. Also today it just did it again. So yes it seems to be random.

Leviticusmax wrote on 2017-10-15 02:09:03

This is definitely based on the health of your pet. He will cast chew if he cannot kill you the first round. Subsequently if you do not hit him the first round and he has full health, he will stampede the second round but if he has been hit, he will heal doing less damage with the second round of his bleat.

After his rotation is set it will not change for the duration of the fight.

ßenehime wrote on 2017-06-08 01:14:59

Think you have the wrong aura number in the TD script, emerald drake keeps casting emerald presence. Also had issues with swapping after drake died to rabbit.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-06-11 20:18:37

There's a typo in the script, should be aura 823 not 832

Saintgabrial wrote on 2016-12-22 20:38:47

I changed the Strategy a bit so we can use a lvl 1+ pet. Let me know how it works out. I'll change it back if this doesn't work that well. I killed him on my 3rd test so wasn't able to test further. I will tomorrow though.

Thanks

Anonymous wrote on 2017-01-20 22:46:31

Like the new strat, if you swap chrom for darkmoon tonk the cutoff after swapping to slot 3 is 1098 instead, almost guaranteed to be below threshold even after the inspiring song heal. I've been using for about 2 weeks now without needing to use anything before the Ion Cannon

Anonymous wrote on 2017-01-17 22:39:26

With the modified strat of letting Emerald go til death I've been using Darkmoon Tonk in 3rd slot for a higher 1 hit threshold since Ion Cannon does 1098 against Bleat.

Hermy wrote on 2017-01-14 06:14:56

If Bleat is at full health, Howl + Surge of Power isn't enough to take him down. You need to add a Bite in first. Found this out the hard way!

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-27 21:48:59

P/B, P/P and P/S are the only Emerald Proto-Whelp's breeds, by the way.

Best Strategy is Magical Crawdad with 2 level 1 pets to level. Crawdad with Snap, Shell Shield and Wish. This strategy never fails. Idea is the clever use of Shell Shield and Wish. Always keep Shell Shield up. Put a level 1 pet in when when the first enemy pet uses his turn to fly, Then quickly change with Crawdad and use wish next turn. Use Snap as your filler. Repeat for the next level 1 pet.

Kakjens wrote on 2016-11-04 15:14:55

Takes approximately 40 turns - and less variance because no misses due to Sandstorm. Additional benefit is that this strategy does not do reduced damage on Bleat, who has healing spell.

Aranesh

Could work, but I think the current strategies should really cover it :-)

Remte

I was expecting that answer, but I couldn't deny myself the Nex appreciation! :D Though these days it's more a node to the past.

And it seems that the Obalis' (Uldum guy) plushing will be just as plentiful with suggestions. ;p

Gráinne

wrote on 2015-05-17 16:55:43

OK, I've done the EPW/Chrominius strat three days now, and not had Chrominius die. He has been down to 27 HP, but he hasn't died. So I guess I believe it. :)

I think it might be more accurate to play Emerald Bite in Turn 1, followed by Emerald Presence on Turn 2, when the opponent is unreachable. This will most likely save a round. Then when Lapin comes out, you can either refresh Presence a round early, or accept the Flurry damage after Proto-Strike. It works either way.

Thanks for the suggestion! It does indeed work a bit safer even that way. Changed it :-)

I tested the revised EPW strat with a P/P and it was successful. Chrominius' life was down to 70 though. I'll try it a couple of times more in the next week and let you know if RNG might upset it.

Your Alternative 2 with the Idol is something I've used since forever, so I won't bother testing. I prefer to use only one level pet and a mech like a Darkmoon Tonk as third pet to finish off Bleat quickly.

Glad they're working out so far :D
Thanks for the thorough testing. The glitch was more of a mistake from my side, and is fixed now ^^

Nice to see the first Alternative popping up! It looks good. :) I do notice that at the end of the EPW strategy page, I see "Turn 5 Swap to level pet 2. Anubisath Idol will solo the fight from here" which might belong in the other strategy. A glitch, I presume.

This failed twice for me using a P/S EPW. (Yes I know - who would have a P/S EPW? :P I was deliberately being awkward.)

I didn't record the battles and don't have time now, so I just went ahead and tried with a P/P. Still failed. I left the battle unfinished; I'll try and record it later today.

Very strange, my EPW is also P/S. Going to revisit this strategy, thanks for the heads-up!

Found the error and now the strat is working much better - and is a few rounds faster! :-)
