For those of us who prefer chipping away at assorted 22+ pet's exp doing WQ that would be chosen to do anyway. (After Family Battler is done.) This is what worked as a modified script using Life Exchange. (Need to change ability line-up, as listed it's Evanescence). It can still get hairy with RNG, but LE makes it less chancy. My leveling preferences for WQ's are set to only allow pets that are over 22, such as most wild pets, so you are not wasting time with low levels that get better exp easier elsewhere. I'm horrible with scripts, and it took longer to find a line that works then I'd care to admit. change(next) [ self(#1).dead & ! self(#3).played ] if [ self.aura(Wind-Up:458).exists ] ability(Supercharge:208) ability(Powerball:566) [ ! self.aura(Supercharged:207).exists ] endif ability(Life Exchange:277) [self.hp<800 & enemy(#3).played ] ability(Moonfire:595) ability(#1)
Edited for an RNG event where SDH was facing Turbo plus also had less than 800 hp. I think it could have squeaked by had the LE been fired on the very first turn with Whiplash. Maybe, maybe not, but added the enemy part in case. (edited)
Very sad about the xp nerf for low level pets during BFA pet battles. Not sure what Blizz's reasons are for this. Would be happy if someone could explain. I'm glad all else seems unchanged though it would be nice if the low level pet xp I used to get from Rydyr battle would be re instated (please take note Mr Blizz)
I have edited my strategies to inform about the xp nerf. One of my strategies had to be removed because Blizzard has in fact changed certain abilities of the BFA tamers. It is what it is. I can only suggest making sure you do do the WoD trainers weekly to level up (or at least when the pet battle event is up).
the reason is because you can fight these pet masters repeatedly for the achievement now, they don't want people just exploiting that to level pets. They could however have easily come up with a better solution then a nerf.
Since the battles are repeatable now they didn't want them to be grindable. It was nice for the 2 days of doing the family battle achievement but now I'm missing the xp again
If your Iron Starlette is P/P you can skip the Supercharge and finish off Eighty-Eight with a plain old Wind-Up Release. This freed me up to land some blows on Whiplash.
Fortunately I had a level 21 level pet or this would have been a disaster. Perhaps a life exchange with the sprite darter would help, or the other pets mentioned in the comments.
I replaced the sprite darter hatchling with a Nexus Whelpling, with x-2-2. Arcane Storm, then Mana Surge, and you're done -- last pet died much faster, and with less micromanaging.
Use Evanescence before switching the weather. The enemy is in its Cocoon and you are first. So you avoid 2 attacks and can savely switch weather one later.
Agreed. I like it more that way. Could someone post a script for it? (the full fight, please) Turn 10: Bring in Sprite Darter Hatchling Turn 11: Evanescence Turn 12: Moonfire Turn 13. Arcane Blast to finish Whiplash off. Use Moonfire if Whiplash casts Sandstorm.
